The Greasers are one of the five school cliques at Bullworth Academy.
Hierarchy
Johnny Vincent is the leader of the clique. Peanut Romano is Johnny's best friend and 2nd in command, although compared to other 2nd in commands he receives little respect from other cliques. Although he claims to have no particular standing in the clique, Norton Williams can be seen giving orders when Johnny is absent. It is also possible due to his regular mission participation and his speaking time that Vance Medici has a higher up position in the clique.
The Greasers are second in the school clique hierarchy, behind only the Jocks. However, the instruction manual of Scholarship Edition mistakenly says they are the top clique in the hierarchy order.
Clique Description and Information
The Greasers dress in leather or denim jackets over dull blue school sweaters, along with school slacks or jeans. They also grease their hair with pomade or oil, hence the clique name. In general they look like 1950s-style throwbacks. They wear dark blue shirts with brown shorts during gym class. Other than Johnny and Norton, their last names suggest that they're Italian-Americans. They appear at the Auto Repair Shop on the campus and in the run-down New Coventry area and the Oil Spill gas station. They are enemies of the Preppies and Townies and will also attack the Non-Clique Students or Nerds if seen on their turf, and can also be seen tormenting the townsfolk. Generally, most greasers come from a more poor, working-class background - especially since most greasers originate from New Coventry - the run-down ghetto of Bullworth. The class differences are primarily responsible for their rivalry with the Preppies.
Role in story
The Greasers don't feature much until Chapter 3, with Johnny employing Jimmy to spy on his girlfriend Lola who he correctly suspects is having an affair with Gord. Jimmy briefly begins helping the Greasers against the Preppies. However, between Derby manipulating Jimmy to take action against the Greasers and Lola continuing to flirt with him, Jimmy's relationship with the Greasers sours. Eventually Lola's actions lead to a full war between the Greasers and Preppies, with Jimmy getting drawn into it against the Greasers. Jimmy and Johnny end up fighting in Junkyard, with Jimmy prevailing and gaining the trust of the Greasers.
Gary Smith begins to stir trouble up with the school cliques and turns the Greasers against Jimmy. Jimmy, however, manages to regain some of the trust by helping Johnny escape from the Happy Volts Asylum. Jimmy later beats Johnny again in another fight and once again pacifies the Greasers.
